If you’re young, from a culturally diverse background or religious faith, and you’re interested in exploring stories and experiences that bring people closer together, rather than what sets us apart – have we got the workshops for you!

CAN, in partnership with Multicultural Arts Victoria and with support from Propel Youth Arts is proud to present Common Ground – a multilingual, multi faith spoken word workshop series.

Led by acclaimed performance poets Sukhjit Khalsa and Abdul Hammoud, participants will be given a unique opportunity to explore themes such as identity, faith, belonging and conflict and how they can use these experiences to find their voice through spoken word poetry.

To be a part of this incredible, FREE, skills development opportunity, register here.

The workshops will be held at the State Theatre Centre from October 2 – 6 from 3.00-5.30pm.

If you want to see just how powerful spoken word or slam poetry can be, check out these videos featuring our Common Ground facilitators; Sukhjit Kaur Khalsa and Abdulrahman Hammoud.
