The CAN Board has recently accepted the resignation of CEO Jo Metcalf who has decided for personal reasons to pursue other opportunities.
We appreciate Jo’s contribution to CAN during her tenure and wish her the very best in all her future endeavours.
2016 was both a challenging and exciting year for CAN as a more sustainable business model for the organisation was established. CAN also successfully negotiated opportunities with the Department of Culture and the Arts and engagement with the Office of Multicultural Interests to expand our work with the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) communities of Western Australia.
This, alongside multiyear funding secured in 2016, for work with Noongar communities from both the Australia Council and the Ministry for the Arts, provides a solid foundation for CAN in 2017 and beyond.
The organisation will continue to benefit from the deep skills and experience of the Board, and the leadership of our General Managers, Monica Kane and June Moorhouse. Monica’s seven years of senior service with CAN and June’s extensive arts experience provide great continuity and stability for the talented staff we have retained in our streamlined team.
The Board has every confidence in the continued strength of CAN’s delivery and ability to realise its ambitions in the year ahead.
