It was obvious from the very start that this was no “ordinary” training! The way we were asked to introduce ourselves challenged us to really think how we portray ourselves in the world. I realised fairly quickly that what I had considered my strengths could be an impediment in contributing to communities. The variety of presenters and their methods of delivery blew away many of my ideas on effective engagement.

Participants in the Cultural Planning course can expect to be stretched beyond their current level of expertise and build skills that they will apply in community involvement. They are informed in planning sustainable arts and heritage services. They are also enabled to form close links between groups within the community that may not have been in contact with before.

The five day course is structured to introduce the principles and methodology of cultural planning and have participants make connections for themselves that they will carry with them into every future situation.

Thanks, CAN WA, for what you have made possible through this course!
