CAN is very excited to announce that one of the new community arts projects we will be starting this year is LULLABIES – music, song writing and language workshops to create original Noongar lullabies.
This initiative is the brainchild of acclaimed Noongar songstress Gina Williams and we’ll be working with families in Midland and Northam for the first phase of the project.
We’re also about to embark on another language adventure in the southern part of the state. We’re launching a new project called PLACE NAMES, where we will work with the community to explore the Noongar meanings and stories of well-known places.
CAN will also continue to deliver its story sharing art program, Rekindling Stories on Country for the next four years.
We are privileged to be able to continue our strong association and work with the Noongar community. We also look forward to forging stronger relationships with other groups as we expand our work with the Cultural and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) communities across Western Australia.
