Youth Focus (LiveworX) History Aim CAN WA’s LiveworX Program exists to create and activate opportunities for young people to engage in and thrive from arts and cultural activities. LiveworX believes that young people’s energy, perspectives and creativity can be harnessed to revitalise and inspire communities. LiveworX utilises arts and cultural activities to inspire, motivate and mobilise young people, and to elevate their overall sense of wellbeing.
Objectives The LiveworX Programs utilises community arts and creatively designed vocational education to provide opportunities for young people to:
• Tell their stories and express their ideas; • Explore their identities and aspirations; • Cultivate places and spaces they can call their own; • Become more active in their community; • Develop vocational and life skills; • Make new connections and friendships; • Build their confidence and self-esteem; and • Pursue their dreams.
Services Through the LiveworX Program, CAN WA can assist your organisation or community to sustain the needs and enhance the wellbeing of young people through:

- The development and/or delivery of arts and culturally based activities, projects and programs, designed with and for young people;
- Youth engagement and consultation services;
- Facilitation of Cultural Mapping and Planning processes with communities who are developing youth spaces, places and programs;
- Designing and delivering presentations and workshops for young people and for professionals and artists working with young people.

| Featurefired up: sparking arts and creativity : April Holiday program
As part of the Reel Connections Community Partnership project, CAN WA will be delivering the Fired Up program to up to fifteen young people (15-25 yrs) with Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds who live or regularly visit Mirrabooka, Balga and Girrawheen.
The Fired Up Program has a key focus on personal and interpersonal skills such as team-work, communication, conflict resolution, problem solving and cultural awareness and respect. The young participants will also be able to develop a range of creative skills by participating in workshops with professional artists in a variety of art-forms including drama, music, photography, urban art and sculpture.
The Fired Up Program has been designed to be practical and project-based. As part of the training, participants will be supported to put on a small arts-based event or project that will be showcased to the community. The participants will also have the opportunity to complete units of competency that are nationally recognised throughout Australia.
When will it happen?
The first 2008 Fired Up program will be run for 6 days over the April School holidays.

How much does it cost?
This course is FREE for 15 lucky young people.
