Over the next four weeks, artist Susie Vickery is working with CAN’s Art and Yarning group in Langford exploring Noongar place names and themes through stitch, colour, texture and language.
Susie’s core skills were developed over twenty years as a costumier for theatre and film. Since then she has built expertise in fine art embroidery and delivered textile projects in Nepal, Tibet, Myanmar, Turkey and India. She has also worked with women in the vulnerable communities of Mumbai and rural Mexico.
Susie has an incredible wealth of knowledge and expertise to share and we look forward to what emerges from the work, all a part of CAN’s Place Names project.
