CAN presents Ngala Daa-Waangkiny an intimate Aboriginal poetry performance, alongside poetry and art installations, bringing voices from across Noongar country together at the State Theatre Centre of WA to celebrate NAIDOC week 2019.
Powerful poetry performances featuring Alf Taylor, Jillian Moody and Daniel Hansen, and open mic readings from former CAN poetry project participants. Following the show, join us for afternoon tea amongst Djinda Falcon’s flock of woven birds and poetry installations. Enjoy CAN’s Bilya Kep Waangkiny Noongar poetry performance on film, and grab a copy of ‘A Banksia is Lit’ poetry zine.
Visit the State Theatre Centre across NAIDOC week to explore Noongar poetry and art installations inside and out of the building, including outdoor night projections featuring brilliant woven bird artworks.
