Grants for artists with disabilities

Australian first for artists with disabilities

Western Australian artists with disabilities will benefit from an exciting new $100,000 grant program, the Grants for Artists with Disabilities.

Grants are available to create new art work, showcase your art work to new audiences, or learn from other artists. Grants are for artists working in dance, theatre, music, fashion, writing, multi-media, visual arts or a combination.

Further information on the Grants for Artists with Disabilities is available at www.dca.wa.gov.au.

Click on the Grants for Artists with Disabilities to view a copy of the NEW handbook which outlines what’s on offer and how to apply.

Applications are now open and close on January 30, 2009.

Grants for Artists with Disabilities was launched at the National Arts and Health Conference which was hosted by Disability in the Arts, Disadvantage in the Arts WA and Arts Access Australia. It is a pilot project funded in partnership with the Disability Services Commission (DSC) and managed through the Department of Culture and the Arts (DCA) as part of the Disability and the Arts Initiatives (DAII).
