Nominations for 15th WA Business and the Arts Partnership Awards

The deadline for nominating outstanding business-arts partnerships in the Western Australian Business and the Arts Partnership Awards (WABAPA) is fast approaching.

Nominations need to be submitted to the Department of Culture and the Arts by Monday July 7, 2008.

Six Prestige Partnership Awards will recognise achievements in culture and arts and business partnerships ranging from creating much needed studio spaces for artists in heritage-listed buildings, to taking symphonies to Wheatbelt schools.

The Minister for Culture and the Arts Sheila McHale will honour one of these winning partnerships with the Minister’s Award for the Most Outstanding Partnership.

In 2007 a project between Yirra Yaakin Aboriginal Corporation and the Insurance Commission of Western Australia that delivered the message of responsible driving to rural and remote northwest communities, received the Minister’s Award for the Most Outstanding Partnership and the Community Investment Award.

In addition to the Prestige Partnership Awards two leaders from the business and the culture and arts sector will be recognised for their contribution to Western Australia’s cultural landscape.
