This year’s NAIDOC week theme is Our Languages Matter, so it gives us great pleasure to announce that West Australian of the Year award winner Gina Williams will be our special guest at the opening of our Rekindling Stories on Country exhibition.
Gina won the prestigious award for her dedication to the promotion and revival of Noongar language.
Gina, accompanied by musician Guy Ghouse, will sing songs in Noongar at the official opening of our exhibition on Tuesday July 4 and 4.00pm.
Gina and Guy are partnering with CAN to deliver a new community art program which is working with infants and their extended families to share Noongar language through song.
To hear more about this exciting new program called Lullabies, come join us at City Art Space in the Northbridge Piazza. It’s the gallery tucked in under the giant screen!
