Community Arts Network is proud to throw its support behind the campaign declaring war on fake Aboriginal art.
Did you know that about 85% of what is sold in souvenir shops is fake and imported?
That deprives Aboriginal artists and communities from having control over their culture and potential income.
The Indigenous art community is calling for changes to the law to make it illegal to sell or import fake Aboriginal art and souvenirs.
So how can you help?
You can make a submission to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Indigenous Affairs Inquiry into the Proliferation of Inauthentic Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ‘Style’ Art (FAKE ART).
You’ve got until November 3 to let them know how you feel!
