Portraits that honour Noongar Elders past and present, handmade dolls that capture Noongar birthing experiences and photos, films and recordings of untold stories of Noongar life will feature in a new exhibition to be opened during NAIDOC week.

CAN in partnership with ART ON THE MOVE and the City of Perth Winter Arts Season is proud to present Rekindling Stories on Country – there are many ways to tell a story…

“This exhibition brings together a mixture of art forms that explore the art of storytelling in different and evocative ways,’ said CAN’s General Manager June Moorhouse.

The City of Perth Winter Arts Season event will feature the Honouring our Elders portrait exhibition which is currently being toured by ART ON THE MOVE, alongside Noongar story dolls created during workshops in Moora and New Norcia. Other Noongar histories will be shared through a variety of digital mediums.

The exhibition at City Art Space Gallery in Northbridge Piazza will run from July 3 to 15 and be open daily from 10am – 4pm, including weekends.
The show is free and suitable for all ages.

City Art Space is located under the Northbridge Piazza screen on the corner of Lake and James Street.
