One of the key aims of CAN’s Rekindling Stories on Country project is to collect, celebrate and share Noongar stories and culture.
So it is with great pride that we can announce CAN is teaming up with 100.9fm Noongar Radio to do just that.
CAN will present a new fortnightly radio program that will showcase stories, art and music from the South West and Wheatbelt.
Called ‘Stories on Country’ the show will feature interviews with Noongar elders and artists involved in community arts projects outside of the metropolitan area.
The program will also give listeners the chance to hear CAN’s archive of Noongar oral history and music recordings that have been collected over the past decade.
“CAN has a long and proud history of working with the Noongar community to capture extraordinary stories from everyday people.
“These recordings form an important part of our nation’s history and this new program will allow us to share these rich and powerful stories with the broader community.” Said CEO Jo Metcalf.
Starting in February, ‘Stories on Country’ will be presented on 100.9fm Noongar Radio fortnightly at 11.00am on Tuesday Morning.
