Rebecca Fitzgerald | aboriginal arts and culture coordinator
The thing I like most about working for CAN WA is being able to live and work in my community and see the differences our work makes with the different workshops that we have been fortunately been able to run since the office opened in Kellerberrin. Our work is very unique as Aboriginal people we are put in compromising positions with having to accomplish goals and strengthen and support the Indigenous community and then to assist with CAN WA’s goals a special and natural gift is required for this type of work.
Carrie Yarran | aboriginal Arts and Culture Trainee
I'm a proud Aboriginal woman from Kellerberrin hoping to build bridges and create more opportunities for my people and the community through arts. I'm privileged to be joining a great organisation such as CAN WA who have already contributed three years in helping our community already. With the Aboriginal Ball, Keela Dreaming Festival and workshops throughout the year, I thank CAN WA for this opportunity.
Naomi mcintosh | aboriginal arts and culture trainee
I hope to learn skills through my work at CAN WA, in particular how to communicate with the community throughout different workshops and other community events. I also want get involved with the youth of Kellerberrin and nearby towns during the school holidays and on the weekends, I feel they are left out of a lot of things that go on in town and I want them to be involved as much as possible.
